Just wondering if anyone out there uses a special map maker, or character builder, online gaming table or what...

Hero Builder, good program, now if only I could get my GM to use it for her npcs (she's terribly stubborn and HATES new technology).

an Excel spreadsheet that looks like a herosystem character sheet. It dosn't really do any of the work, but it looks nicer than handwriten. And it was free.

The only gaming tools I use these days are the ones provided through DDi.

Hey, I don't hate new technology, dagnabbit! You crazy kids and your electronic mail!
hehe, but you're right, I need to make use of the hero builder more, as it would make game prep faster for me.
One thing I use a lot is Excel and Word processor. I created a D&D character sheet on excel where your stat bonuses will add to your skills list automatically, which helps me update character sheets quicker. I also heavily rely on online SRDs like the Pathfinder SRD. They're a really handy and quick way to look up a stray rule or find a quick set of stats for a spell or class ability without having to sift through pages of a book, and aren't as slow to load as a pdf can be. Helps to decrease delays in game play.

Skype is one program no one mentioned. Its a over the computer live voice chat program that lets you set up a mic and webcam (you dont need one to use skype) and elts you get into the game. I have used it with lots of sucess, matter of fact im going to have to dig out my set up to play games again.
