    Default 4th Edition D&D?

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone is running 4th edition D&D in Charleston and do they need another player? I have been roleplaying since high school (long time ago) and have played up to 3.5 edition, but never played 4th. So I may need a crash course. I was stranded at Book's A Million the other day and got time to browse the 4th edition player handbook. I have to admit it looked pretty cool. So just wondering cause I have been getting the roleplaying itch again.

We play encounters on Wednesday's at six pm. I'm currently maxed out with six players but come on by anyway if you just want a crash course. If a regular player fails to show, you may get to play. Encounters is fun and fast; only two to three hours a week. The current season is Dark Sun and this week will be session four out of fifteen, so we're really still just getting started.

If I get enough interested players, I may start a second group on a different night. Rather than run encounters again, I'm thinking of doing something a little different. As my DM rewards I just got a copy of Tomb of Horrors, the original adventure by Gary Gygax converted to fourth edition. My first reaction was WTF? ToH is set up as an example by the 4th edition dm's guide as what NOT to do to a party. It's basically the opposite of what 4th edition is supposed to be about. However, after reading it, I'm actually intrigued and I think it might be made to work with the right group of players.

We play on Saturdays too, but that's in a state of flux right now, we may play this week, but I don't even know if I have to work or not, so I may not be there.

So, the answer to your question is YES. If we can work out a day and time, I'll even try to get a group together to run you on a quick one shot delve, just to give you a taste.

That would be great. I am free every evening and weekends except tuesday. I will stop by Wednesday night, just to meet and get a feel for it. Thanks Doug.

I saw your facebook post and was going to recommend the encounters session. Again, like a broken record, thanks Doug for all you do for the D&D universe at LLGC.

Thanks Dave and Doug. It's funnny. I was a die, hardcore 3.5 edition and against 4th ed. I have to admit though, It looks good. I am looking forward to seeing it played Wednesday.

I remember. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
It's cool though. I never considered you a hardcore hater.
If you're a tactical gamer, I think you're going to like it.
