Board Game Night at Elk River Nazarene Church

Friday, May 20th is the next board game evening at Elk River Nazarene Church. Gaming starts at 6PM. Join us for a game or two. The first event was a really good time. Feel free to bring your favorite board game or just show up and play whatever folks happen to bring. Hope to see you there!

Is this a normal monthly get together? Unfortunately I can't make it on Friday evenings. Also, do you have a list of the board games that are available?

If I can get away and make it down there, I'll bring a copy of 7 Wonders! If this is a monthly thing, I should be able to make it next month!

Yes, this is currently scheduled to run the third Friday of each month. Games available are basically whatever folks decide to bring. There is certainly no lack of variety. I'm pretty sure that there are at least 2 copies of 7 Wonders among the attendees if not more but everyone is welcome to bring whatever they want.

I had a great time last night. Probably 20 people showed up through the night. Lots of games were played.
7 Wonders
Settlers of Catan
Forbidden Island
Crokinole (on the beautiful CharCon board, which will fit in my car, barely)
Alien Frontiers
D&D (one of the new boardgames)
Wings of War (with the miniature planes)
at least one prototype drafting card game that some of the guys are working on
and several other games at other tables.
It was mostly guys that knew each other from church but they were very friendly to guests and welcomed everyone. They love games and it shows. I think most gamers would have a great time at these events. There were a few snacks and drinks available and you can bring your own. They plan on hosting this event on the 3rd Friday of every month and about 4 times a year have an all day Saturday event. These guys are having fun and sharing the hobby with anyone that wants to listen. You should join them the next time.

Charlie is right. It was a really good night of gaming. This was the second monthly event and the attendance was up this time around. Some other games that were played:

There were plenty of other games available to play but you can only play so many games in an evening! Here's looking forward to future events. Hope to see more of you there!

Ichthys Games Third Friday Event is tomorrow on the 16th of December!! This is a very informal social setting at the Elk River Nazarene Church. Bring a few snacks and drinks and play games until you get tired. See the event calendar for more information and directions.
