Default Shadowrun: Big story line or runs

So My friends and I were talking about Shadowrun, and It came up. In the past we had big story lines where we took on world changing aspects. Our Shadowrun GM said he wanted to get back to the nitty gritty and just do runs with not big storylines.

What do you prefer in your shadowrun story lines? Do you want to run with Harlequin, Help with Dunkelzahn will, or run into Damien Knight...Or run the shadows and make profit with out touching the big boys and becoming street grease...
And the blood will drain down like devils rain, and we will bathe tonight

I've never played Shadowrun, though I did make a charater for it once for a campaign that fell through. But in any rpg, the big epic style campaigns are cool. However, they can get old. Little stories can be as fun as the big ones. Plus, if later on, you decide you want the big epic game, you can move into it. And you're more experienced and more able to deal with epic challenges.
