CharCon Admission Prices
We are thrilled to have been able to keep our costs the same as last year. They are:
Weekend Pass - $30
Friday - $15
Saturday - $20
Sunday - $15
Children under 12 Weekend Pass - $20
Children under 12 daily - $10
The daily children's passes and any visitor related passes will not be available via pre-registration, but can be picked up onsite.
That is a fine question. Allow me to retort.
First, there is no other single thing that any attendee can do that is more helpful to CharCon than pre-registering. This has never been more true than this year. Just like always, pre-registering allows us to plan things and gauge our attendance. However, this year our change of venue places more emphasis on pre-show costs. Pre-registration is a key part of our ability to do that.
We are lucky to once again have our pre-registration sponsored by our friends at Eagle & Gryphon Games.
In addition to swag from our sponsors, every person who pre-registers receives 5 raffle tickets for the absolutely stupendous CharCon raffle.
Last year we did T-Shirts for our fifth anniversary. We sold them through pre-registration and let you pick the color of your shirt. We also sold a limited color onsite. This year, chances are that we are only going to sell shirts via pre-registration.
So, if you want a CharCon 2011 shirt, then the only way to get it will be to pre-register! The cost will be $20 per shirt, with larger sizes costing a little more. Plus, we will once again let you select your color! (we will contact you to confirm the color you want).
This years shirt will feature the CharCon logo and 2011 on the front and for the first time, we will feature only the cover art from our current years program on the back of the shirt. Now I would love to show this to you, but 1) It is not ready yet and 2) We never reveal the program cover before the show. So, let me tell you that it will represent this years theme (Wild West/Steampunk) and will be created by Artist Extraordinaire Jeff Carlisle. Jeff is an amazing artist and let me tell you that based on the creative discussions we have had with Jeff about the art, it is going to be awesome!
Finally, everyone who pre-registers will receive an invitation to our second annual VIP dinner. This event will take place on Thursday night before the show starts. It is a chance to hang out with our guests, the CharCon staff and other gamers. You can discuss what is going on for the weekend, pick up all your pre-reg stuff and so on. Last years VIP dinner was a really great time and we are looking forward to an even better time this year!
Just a couple notes about pre-registering. If you purchase more than one badge, be sure to include names, emails & city/state info for each person in the PayPal cart. Also, don't worry about the color on your shirts, we will contact you to ask what you want.
Oh, one more thing. If you have not booked your room at the Charleston House/Ramada Charleston Downtown, what are you waiting for? You will definitely want to stay onsite since the hotel IS the host for CharCon. That way you are guaranteed not to miss anything! Everything you need to book your rooms can be found here.
We have switched from our old system (Zen Cart) to using PayPal directly. Hopefully everyone will find this easier to use and enjoy the flexibility PayPal offers.
