Default questions for GM's about living/ongoing games

I listened to the Pod cast and have read the boards and there are a lot of RPG games going on, which me and my team are interested in.

It is My job to help pick out the RPG games because I have a Internet connection and I hound the boards.

So I have questions for GM's, or people that may know.

Basically My group will Have at least 4 players (trying to get more :P) and They plan on playing in some miniature games (Mainly a Malifaux tournie if there is one). Well they are interested in Several of the RPG games going on, but they don't know what the schedules are. So my question is for the Tournament/Living/ongoing games, can they come and go as the con goes on? We don't want to screw up story lines, and tournament play. Also can we play as a group, or will we be split up, I know the Husband and wife want to play as a team, and me and their brother wants to play in the different games, But the Brothers are going to play in the Malifaux tournament when ever that is That is Set In Stone, everything else will be set around that. And pretty much there is interest in every RPG there is going on in the con specially after reading the boards and listening to the podcast.

I'm Putting Feelers out now so we can get an idea of what is going to be playable for all of us. Thanks in Advanced!!

Hi Brian, the X Crawl RPG tournament that I am running can be scheduled anytime you want. People form their teams and characters before the con so you can choose who is on your team but it has to be exactly four people. If you would like I can e-mail you the information on how to register with me and create characters/teams. After registering I will send you a run day & time for the tournament (you have two hours exactly to run the dungeon). If it conflicts with the time of another event you want to play in, just e-mail me and I can change the time. I will be doing scheduling once the catalogue of events comes out (there is some things I don't want to miss myself). Just send me your email if you want the info.

Hey Brian. We're looking forward to seeing you and your group again. As far as Living type games go, we have a few: Matt Smith is organizing a slew of Pathfinder Society games to run throuhout the con. I think the only restriction on those is you need a PS number which I understand Matt can provide you with on site if need be. For FourE we have my friend Gordon running a Gamesday delve set in Neverwinter. It is RPGA approved and suitable for Living Forgotten Realms, it is level one. I will also have Jeff Berryhill and my son Alex running the new Lair Assaults all weekend long which let you collect Glory Points which I'm told you can register online and compare your score with others who have played. My games won't require an RPGA number to play, I treat it as optional. I think the Xcrawl game is the only game where you actually compete against other players, thus the only one you'd have to worry about being available for a final tournament. My game The Legend of Carconne Gulch will take place in three Acts through the weekend and while we would prefer if we had the same fifteen players all weekend, we understand that's probably not going to happen.
then there's Jim Medley's Star Wars Sparks campaign which will run constantly through the con. They have at least one special game that is exclusive to this years Charcon and the only requirement is you must have played before and thus already have a character.
Hope that helps, feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

Nope, no finals. Each team only runs the Dungeon once. You are scored on several things during your run. Highest score wins.

The Pathfinder Society games are designed so that you can come and go as you need. Even the ones that are set up as a multiple part story arc are episodic so they can be played out of order if needed, although they are usually more enjoyable in order.

I'm running a Pathfinder RPG Friday from noon to six. It is a one-shot game, unrelated to the PF society games set in my own fantasy world, level 3 characters.
