Hello all. After much deliberation and some cajoling from friends, I am pleased to announce the X-Crawl will be returning for a second year at Charcon (of course, if the good Charcon Gods approve)! As some of you know I had such a wonderful turn out of teams last year. So much so that all I got done was running the crawl. While I had an awesome time with all of you, I would like some time to do other things this year. Sooo, this year, we are going to do things a bit differently.

We will be holding qualifiers before Charcon. These qualifiers will take place weekends in September up until the 6th of October. I will be holding the qualifiers all weekend at you friendly Lost Legion games and Comics Stores (with the permission of the High God Whelan of course). Around the middle of August I will announce the weekends that the qualifiers will be held in Charleston, Parkersburg, Princeton, and Beckley. You will be able to schedule a time that weekend to run the qualifier crawl. It will be a short but deadly dungeon. The top three teams will go on to run the Crawl at Charcon.

Scoring this year, will be a bit different as well. You will be scored on time as last year, but instead of the number of creatures killed, the gold piece value of the cash and prizes you earn along the way will be figured in as well. There will be a "win condition" in each room that will give you access to the prize. You won't necessarily need to kill everything to get the prize(s). You may need to reach a door, kill a monster with a key around it's neck, open a chest while you team mates fight off hordes of creatures, etc. There also may be several was to obtain the treasure. Ex. Kill the minotaur with the key around his neck or pick the lock. You will be penalized for deaths.

Look for an announcement in mid August for weekend dates and locations for the qualifier, as well as character and level rules/info.

And as Always in X-Crawl, if you die, YOU DIE!
