    Default New Campaign, First Session

    Hey all.

Well, it didn't go quite the way I'd hoped but we finally got the new campaign started. And by "we", I mean Matt and myself, because we were the only one's who showed.

Well, Justin was there, but he was playing Star Frontiers with his group. Matt and i considered scrapping the D&D and play Star Frontiers instead, but we opted to get the campaign rolling.

It went well. It was Matt's introduction to 4th Edition D&D so we spent some time going over what was different. Since he hadn't played since 2nd Ed, it was quite a bit.

I think he really liked the new combat and it's emphasis on tactics. We made it through two combats and some roleplaying.

My home-made power cards worked well. Matt liked spreading them out in front of him so he could consider his options. Because I kept encounter and daily cards as he used them, he didn't waste time looking at options he no longer had.

I think he felt a bit overwhelmed trying to juggle four characters at once and hopes we get some new players soon. Me too.

We played a little Magic before and after also.

We plan to play again next Saturday. I'll let you know how that goes as well.
Here's some pics from today's session.

    Later,
    Doug

It was probably a bad weekend to start with GENCON going on

Actually, I had 4 players lined up, but three of them bailed on me.

Oh well, like Gramps used to say, when life hands you lemons, sit on your front porch and throw them at people.

Be interesting to hear the play by play as your campaign develops.
