Got to the store today prepared to play the final two battles in our current adventure in our regular game. Matt warned me he might not be there, and when he didn't arrive, we decided to do something else.
I didn't have my printer to make new characters.
But what I did have were the character sheets from last weeks Gamesday. All I needed was a 6th level Delve.
So I whipped out the Dungeon Delve book and the Delve inside was called Temple of Zealots. After some quick prep, we were off!
Our group today consisted of Thomas, Calvin, Joey and later Alex. Joey was our newbie. he walked into the room just as we rolling the first initiative and took Holkarn the Halfling Barbarian. He did well and I think he liked it enough that we may be seeing more of him.
The game took exactly six hours. The first encounter was a bunch of cultists that they easily put down. The second involvedd flame snakes and giant constrictors. This one got tricky, but they won through, picked up the Milestone and grabbed back their action Points. The last battle invovlved cultists, a highpriest and a HUGE sized Feywild Crocodile.
The last battle was absolutely insane. When the Feywild Crocodile swallowed Xandross the fighter, everyone was speechless.
I went from being disappointed we didn't get to play our regular game, to having some of the most fun I've ever had playing D&D. I love Delving. Long Live Fourth Edition!
