Default Fellowship of the Wee: The Movie Trailer

I've heard that a straight-to-DVD action film based on Art Empress's famous summer 2007 D&D campaign, Fellowship of the Wee People is currently in production. Apparently the studios have totally run out of ideas and are turning to RPG campaigns for inspiration. A cast of B-Movie superstars has been assembled to portray each of the party's characters, with Tossied, Darwin's paranoid anti-kobold survivalist character, getting the lead.

Apparently they have ditched the gnome-and-halfling-only premise, as well as most of the comedy angle. Instead they are going for a gritty, dark fantasy epic feel with martial arts thrown in for good measure. Something tells me they are going to deviate significantly from the plot of the original game (if anyone still remembers what that was). Also, the kobold effects have to be seen to be believed.

The official trailer has been posted to Youtube. The release date is set for the summer of 2010. I hope they don't screw this up!

They changed a lot (I thought my character was a girl) but I can still see our game in it. Damn draculas, kobolds, and that annoying black dragon (they'll probably replace the dragon with some action star...maybe, Dalph Lungren or the guy from I'm Gonna Get You Sucka).

Dolph Lundgren would make a great Black Dragon... but who's going to play the dracula? You can't have a priest of Dracula without draculas.

Bennett is being played by Robert Z'Dar, but he isn't in the trailer. I hear his Transylvanian accent is deplorable.

Since they couldn't afford to CGI a black dragon, the "Black Dragon" is instead an evil mystical warrior, also played by Costas Mandylor except with a different haircut. He can be seen in the trailer fighting Tossied with the lightning kicks.

Yeah.... I can see that. I can't even remember what I named my Death-seeking Cleric.
